Lancashire Aero Club was established in 1922, is the oldest active flying club in the UK and possibly the world. It was based at Barton Aerodrome from 1947 until early 2007 but has now left for another venue, although we are actively seeking an airfield of our own.

Free landings for members (with a current yellow membership card)

The committee has negotiated a number of deals with airfields nearby which will give members free landings and in some cases discounted rates on fuel. These apply at:

Bagby free landings.
Beverley free landings, fuel at members' rate.
Breighton free landings, fuel at members' rate.
Caernarfon free landings, t+g's at £4 BOGOF, discounted fuel if >50 litres.
Hinton in the HedgesPPR, free landings, very busy gliding at weekends
Halfpenny Green  free landings
Mona free landings
Rednall free landings, PPR from 07747 618131
Rufforth free landings
Sandtoft free landings, fuel at members' rate.
Sherburn free landings, fuel at members' rate
Sleap free landings, fuel but not at members' rate.
Sturgate free landings (n.b. credit cards not accepted for fuel)
Tatenhill free landings, fuel at members' rate
Wellesbourne free landings, no overnight parking charge

Sherburn airfield asks that members wishing to claim a free landing and/or fuel concession announce this over R/T before landing, to avoid paperwork complications.

A current membership card must be produced before payment to take advantage of these concessions. Please note that this arrangement is for one full-stop landing at a partner airfield per visit. "Touch-and-goes" are NOT covered by the landing card.

The committee would welcome feedback from members on the landings concessions and how they are operating, please send your views to the email address below.
