Lancashire Aero Club was established in 1922, is the oldest active flying club in the UK and possibly the world. It was based at Barton Aerodrome from 1947 until early 2007 but has now left for another venue, although we are actively seeking an airfield of our own.

Kenyon Hall Farm, our new strip near Wigan

We're very pleased to announce that Lancashire Aero Club now has its own grass strip from which to fly. It'll be open on nominated days for members' use only. Full planning permission will be applied for and we are hopeful that this can become our new permanent home. There are some restrictions on use, which can be seen on the Flight Guide page together with full details.

A map of the location (courtesy Google) is here

NOTAMS from the NATS AIS are available here. Free registration may be necessary.

You can get TAFS and METARS here. Again, free registration may be necessary.

While you're at the strip please visit the Garden Centre, run by our landlord Tod Bulmer. It's at the end of the track from the strip across the main road, and the Duty Officer will probably be able to give you a lift there.
